Microsoft will conduct Azure and Power apps orientation session one week before the hackathon for the participants. During the hackathon, each team will have a mentor to clarify any Azure-related questions.
Dr. Taylor teaches courses in the Department of Political Science and Public Affairs and the Environmental Studies Program at Seton Hall University. He is the founding director of the interdisciplinary program in Environmental Studies and the Center for Mobile Research & Innovation. His current research activities are focused on the emerging role of mobile technologies in the areas of environment and health, as well as their associated public policy issues.
Dr. Matt Hale teaches in the Master of Public Administration Program, in both the in-person and online tracks, at Seton Hall University. In his research, he focusses on how the media covers the public and nonprofit sectors. Dr. Hale is a regular media commentator on New Jersey politics and has appeared in over 250 news articles from around the country. He is the President of the New Jersey Big Data Alliance, which promotes collaborations among industry, government, and academia.
Dr. Shajina Anand teaches Computer Science and Cybersecurity in the B.S. in Computer Science and online M.S. in Data Science programs at Seton Hall University. She has over 10 years of experience cutting across the IT industry, academics, and research. She holds a Ph.D. from Anna University, India, and she has specialized in authentication and security on cloud computing. Dr. Anand’s research interest is cybersecurity trends such as autonomous vehicle security issues and cloud computing.
All confirmed participants will be provided with Microsoft Teams access to communicate with your team members and also a channel will be provided to connect with the Mentors.
Jury members will be comprised of Experts from Seton Hall University, Microsoft and end users of the app
Solar Power Platform Hackathon is a collaboration between Microsoft and Seton Hall University to drive an innovation mindset for students in AI & Data across multiple universities globally, giving them the opportunity to explore real-world problem areas.
